Here's what we've been up to lately:
Tess has been reaching out to some folks in her industry for career info and advice. It's turned up a couple dead ends but one company she spoke with asked her for her resume--that's always nice! Tess is very excited about getting on the road full time, but during the last couple weeks, the thought of actually leaving the salon, her clientele and her professional comfort zone is stiring up some surprising anxiety in her. She's beginning to realize that steady income as a hairstylist and true location independence probably won't be a great mix. She really does love doing hair but she's also very passionate about pursuing the nomadic lifestyle. She doesn't have a lot of confidence in her other skill sets so these first few steps into the dark are going to difficult for her. But Tess is tough and she's trying to look at this as an opportunity to grow personally as well as professionally.
Steve finished wiring the new stereo in our Van, Fred the Ford. It took some trial and error to find the best places to run all the wires, but he did nice clean work. Steve also rebuilt axles to put under Fred and the suspension kit from U-Joint Offroad is ready and waiting. Springs should come in a couple weeks and then Fred's build will really get underway. Steve is hoping to crank out a couple videos before then to show you more about his work on Fred so far.
We just enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend and spent some time with both our families. Today (Monday) was pretty much a typical work day. We managed to get in a quick mountain bike ride before dark and that always boosts morale. Time to edit some video!
Hope you're all doing fantastic and an big thanks to everyone who has reached out to us. We love hearing your stories and we appreciate all the helpful input.
Steve and Tess love to explore nature, whether it be backpacking, packrafting, mountain biking, hiking, or just wandering. The more we explore, the more we realize just how little we've seen.
