There are several good campgrounds on Mount Desert Island, the island which most of Acadia National Park is located. I live about 5 minutes from Seawall Campground which is in the National Park. No hookups,
but they do have dumping stations. There is a private campground a little further away in Bass Harbor,
called Bass Harbor campground. Both are in a quite area of the island, near Bass Harbor Lighthouse, and some short nature hikes.
The Acadia National Park website and Facebook page have a lot of good info on things to do.
I enjoy hiking with my dog on the carriage trails around the island.
